CEO Leadership Series

Chester Group presents a very unique opportunity to tap into the minds and souls of some of the world's leading CEOs as part of its CEO Leadership Series, hosted monthly at the company headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The series is designed to provide senior executives at Chester with an opportunity to connect one on one with some of the leading CEOs successfully overseeing today's rapid pace of economic change. Robert O. Agbede, President and CEO of Chester Group, created the series as an avenue to gain business insight from some of the chief executives on the cutting edge of unleashing innovation and creativity while revitalizing their corporations.

Anthony Bridge

Executive Vice President, Chester Group and Chief Operating Officer, Chester Engineers

Mr. Bridge brings nearly 40 years of industry experience to the Chester team, and most recently served as Vice President of Engineering and Research and Development with United States Steel Corporation. He holds Bachelor's degrees in industrial management and electrical engineering, and a Master's degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan University.

George L. Miles Jr.

Chairman Emeritus

Mr. Miles is the former President and CEO of WQED Multimedia, the Emmy Award-winning public broadcaster for southwestern Pennsylvania. WQED Multimedia is the parent company of WQED-TV 13 (PBS), WQEX-TV 16, WQED-FM 89.3, WQEJ-FM 89.7 Johnstown, local and national television and radio productions, www.wqed.org and the WQED Education and Community Resource Center. He sits on the Board of Directors of American International Group, Inc. (AIG); Harley-Davidson, Inc.; WESCO International, Inc.; EQT Corporation; HFF,Inc.; Chester Engineers, Inc. and the University of Pittsburgh. He is also a Director of the Mt. Ararat Community Activity Center's Executive Board.

James Flynn

Mr. Flynn is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in financial and operations management. He began his career as a financial accountant and an office manager on a construction project for a nationwide industrial mechanical contractor. After five years, he joined Chester Engineers, serving in various financial positions and advancing to Controller and Vice President of Finance. Mr. Flynn then left to join the Allegheny County Government, where he was appointed Deputy County Controller and ultimately County Manager, which is considered to be the Chief Operating Officer of the County Government. He served there for over 12 years and then re-joined Chester Engineers as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.

Robert Agbede

Robert O. Agbede is the Chairman and CEO of Chester Group Inc., a holding company for technology, engineering, and energy related investments and also the former CEO and owner of Chester Engineers, which was, prior to its merger with Hatch Associates in 2017, the largest African–American–owned engineering, water/wastewater treatment, energy, and environmental engineering firm in the United States.

Mr. Agbede is also the Chairman and CEO of Chester LNG, LLC, a subsidiary of the Chester Group, which designs and owns several Intellectual Properties on micro-LNG systems for use as virtual pipelines to deliver natural gas to remote locations or as standalones for off the grid power generation or fueling. He is the owner and chairman of Sigma Paint Nigeria ltd., a coating manufacturing and marketing company in partnership with Pittsburgh, USA-based PPG Industries.

Mr. Agbede was also the former Vice Chairman of Hatch USA, a global engineering and business consulting company. In addition, Mr. Agbede was a founder and co-owner of Orbital Solutions, a Pittsburgh based leadership development, coaching, diversity consulting and training organization. He and his companies are holders of several U.S. patents.

Mr. Agbede is a member of the CNX (NYSE: CNX) Board of Director, where he currently serves as a member of the Audit, Compensation, Nominating and Corporate Governance, and Environmental, Safety, and Corporate Responsibility committees.

Mr. Agbede is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pittsburgh and he is the Chairman of the Board of Visitors of its Swanson School of Engineering. In 2000, he was inducted into the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering Hall of Fame. He is the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Alumnus award of the Swanson School of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The Robert O. Agbede Scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh benefits African American students pursuing engineering degrees. Also, at the University of Pittsburgh, the Robert O. Agbede Annual Diversity Award encourages recruitment and retention of African American faculty and students. In addition, The Chester Group's endowments and scholarships at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, presently valued at over $4 million, support African American student enrollment and retention primarily in Engineering and Sciences. Mr. Agbede is a University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering graduate and holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Mining Engineering.
